We are joining some of the other churches across the country and doing an “Office”-esque series. Except we’re calling it “On the Clock”. It’s going to be a fun study on office life and how to deal with it. We’ve got a website up allowing anyone and everyone to write down their office stories. Go on, you know you have a story. It’s completely anonymous, of course. Share away!

Communications Network August 16, 2007

So, my job title is Communications Director. I know there are more of us out there, but I am looking for other communications and graphic designers in the Broward and Miami-Dade area. Are you out there? If you’re reading this and know of any of these people, let me know!

I want to start a Communications Network (I’m thinking of a more clever name…). This would be made up of communications/graphic design/marketing people who work in the ministry. I think it would be great to talk about how we do our jobs, who we use to print stuff, what software we use, etc. I know that I would love to have a handful of people that I could call on when I have a question…and it helps when those people are local!

I need a tutor… April 26, 2007

…for Photoshop. Out of the whole Adobe CS2, I only use InDesign. Why? Well, I was trained on Quark XPress in college and my major was journalism with a concentration in print, not graphic design. InDesign is very much like Quark, but oh so much better!

So, I have issues because I don’t have a graphic designer. Well, I did, but he decided to sell me out and go to another church! (you know I still love ya!) So it’s just me and Joel trying to do this thing we call Church Marketing.

Joel’s been trying to tell me I need to do some online tutorials. I finally gave in and did some today. Check em out! You can tell me if they suck…it’s OK.
