So I dropped my camera at our all staff meeting earlier in the month when we went to Ikea. I need a new one. The one I had was decent but it was about 2 years old. It was one of those Kodak EasyShare cameras. I never used the “EasyShare” feature. Anyone want to recommend a good and relatively cheap digital camera? Nothin’ fancy…just something I can fit into a purse to carry around w/ me. Thanks!
Just my opinion… February 23, 2008
There has been a lot of buzz about this church in Tampa doing a sex series. If you haven’t heard about it, just Google “30 day sex challenge” and you will find hundreds of articles about it. It’s getting national attention and many people are blogging with their opinions.
I thought I would share mine.
I am all about doing whatever it takes to bring the rate of divorce among Christians way down. I think the 30 day sex idea is good and it will probably help save a lot of marriages. But I can just tell that it was thought up by a man because I mean, duh, what man doesn’t want to have sex everyday? I don’t think I’d be off target if I said that the majority of women would be OK if they never had sex. Other things like affection and conversation are way important to us (at least for me, they are). Am I right ladies??
Personally I think having sex every day for 30 days a little overkill. I think it’s all about making the time for it and if you have to, plan it. At least, that’s what I’ve learned in the 2 1/2 years I’ve been married.
Whether you are married or single, I would definitely recommend going through the questionnaire they offer on their website. Joel and I sat down together and went through it for about an hour and a half. It was wonderful. I finally got to get some stuff off my chest that I’ve been wanting to say but didn’t know exactly how. He also got to say what he wanted. It might’ve been the best conversation we had in weeks. You find out what your emotional needs are and how your spouse can meet them. Go do it! They also offer a married/single guide for the 30 days. Each day asks a question and you journal about it. We’re going to do that, too.
As for whether we’re gonna do the challenge…well, that’s none of your business! 🙂
I was going back and forth on whether I should post something about this, but I decided I’m just gonna go for it. If it offends you, I am deeply sorry but I think it’s something the church should talk more about. I don’t always agree with the method or the marketing necessarily but I do agree with saving more marriages, so there ya go.
Any Chuck Norris fans? February 22, 2008
I have to admit that I am a part of the “Chuck Norris is cool” generation, but I honestly don’t understand it. I don’t see the humor. Can someone explain it to me?
Anyway, I did appreciate this…and maybe you will too.
Go to Google and type in “find Chuck Norris” then click on “I’m Feeling Lucky” and read the page! It’s hilarious!
Need to laugh? February 20, 2008
This should do it! (RSS people, there’s a video so come check it out!)
**EDIT: Joel has since apologized for what he said about my lasagna!! 🙂
If you know me, you know I love to cook and I LOVE to watch the Food Network. Cooking relaxes me and I enjoy seeing how ingredients come together to make something taste fabulous. I’m always up for trying something new. In fact, I usually never make the same thing twice. I like to switch from thing to thing. I’m like this with clothes too. If I put a cool outfit together I can never usually remember what it was and then it’s gone forever.
That said, I think I’m losing my edge. The past two nights I have made dinners that have not satisfied my husband. For me, this is a big deal. I love hearing him say “Mmmmmmmmmmm” when he takes his first bite. I need the reassurance, what can I say? I even made lasagna tonight and I worked really hard on it and all I got was, “Eh, it was OK”. This has never happened!
I can tell the newlyweddedness (like my made up word?) is slipping away when he says stuff like that. *sigh*
I need some new recipes…anyone got some to give me? I’ll try anything once!
p.s. don’t you love how I put “usually” and “never” in the same sentence twice! there goes my college education 😉
So spinning is going well and I am really enjoying it. I’ve been doing it for a little over a month now and I am seeing some results, but I want to see more!
I think the best part about spinning for me is the music. The instructor picks their own mix and each one is really diverse. Sometimes I hate the music and sometimes I love it. Well, I made my own spinning mix to pump me up when I’m not on the bike. Check it out:
Don’t Stop the Music – Rihanna
Hold On – KT Tunstall
Rehab – Amy Winehouse (she’s controversial and it’s not the best song in the world but it’s a fun song to spin to and the music sounds like something from the 60s)
All I Want – Future of Forestery
Happy – Ayiesha Woods
Let Go – Frou Frou
Love Song – Sara Bareilles
Count Me In – Leeland
Shh – Frou Frou
Waiting On the World to Change – John Mayer
The Story – Brandi Carlile
No One – Alicia Keys
Apologize (feat. OneRepublic) – Timbaland
Breathe (2 AM) – Anna Nalick
Bubbly – Colbie Caillat
So Joel and I tried out the (only) restaurant open at the new mall off of Pines & I-75. Lime Fresh Mexican Grill is a really neat place. We loved the decor and the laid back atmosphere. Here’s the positives:
I had the fajita quesadilla…it was good!
They had lots of low fat/low carb options on the menu which I am excited about.
They had lots of choices for salsa…and I LOVE salsa.
Their pico de gallo was so fresh…it was pretty amazing actually.
Tortilla Chips come with the meal…I only got 6 and Joel got 8….we counted. We are BIG chips and salsa people and that was kind of a rip off.
The staff wasn’t overly friendly.
The prices could’ve been better.
